Zetafax is a software package that runs on a PC network (LAN). It allows users on the network to receive faxes onscreen and send faxes straight from their PCs. It can merge a document onto a letterhead and generate a cover sheet automatically if required before sending. One PC on the network is set up to be the fax server. Connected to this PC are one or more fax modems or fax cards. In most cases the fax server does not need to be a dedicated PC. Documents for sending can be created using most word processors, spreadsheets, and so on. Faxes can also include graphic images such as signatures. Other features include Least Cost Routing, support for Class 1 modems, annotation of received faxes, integration with NT Performance Monitor, new Zetafax client program, a cover sheet editor that includes TrueType font support, integration with Small Business Server Management, and support for Brooktrout and GammaFax PCI boards.
