Med-Center lets you practice the management systems for administering patient accounts and manage the activities for running an effective medical practice. The system handles patient cases, scheduling, procedures administered, insurance, billing, accounts receivable, referral tracking, laboratory results, and patient contacts. Version 2.1 added support for electronic claims submittals, and the price was revised to $700 for the standalone version. Version 2.2 added problem reporting, autotext (for speeding up entry of chart notes), improved electronic medical records, activity logs (for adds/mods/deletes), and user-customizable fields. Version 2.3 included customized office formularies and the ability to import health care plan formularies. The prescription system was expanded to allow easier writing of prescriptions using plan formularies or office prescription lists. User login features were enhanced with additional password options, improved user account and group management, improved account information storage, and extended administrator control over group privileges. A new list editor also was added to help define and manage choice lists for field entries. Med-Center was extended to function as a full Web server for Med-Center/Web, and a database tool kit has been integrated with the database engine for integrity checks or repair if needed. A global Replace functionality was added to allow a selection of records to be changed for selected fields, and the speed of all operations was enhanced.Version 2.4 supports both Windows and Macintosh platforms simultaneously in a client / server network or as stand-alone applications. Patient information can now be accessed within the practice regardless of computer type and has identical screens and functionality. This shareware copy is for one computer only
