A-Trade is a free nonbrowser-based online trading program that allows you to buy or sell stocks through your personal computer without using a browser by establishing a continuous TCP/IP connection to the Open Order Entry Server (OOES), which is part of the participating broker's network, www.SelfTrading.com. A-Trade requires users to set up an account for real-time stock data through the participating real-time vendor, www.PCQuote.com. Once a real-time data account is set up, you can interact with the OOES through A-Trade's stock tracking grid, where you can conduct live or simulated trade transactions after you have defined a stock selection criteria based upon a stock price range or by building a set(s) of stocks to track. You can buy and sell stocks online based on real-time stock price forecasts generated automatically from A-Trade's stock tracking grid. Its paper trade feature allows you to simulate buying and selling stocks (based on real-time data) before using your real money. In addition, you can define your stock price entry points and stop-loss points to control when to either get into or get out of any particular stock trade.
