Key Serv allows you to monitor, capture, and log keystrokes sent to your computer from your keyboard. This is a perfect tool to catch online cheaters, or monitor what your kids are doing online. It can also take a snapshot of the entire computer screen and save it as a JPEG image for later viewing. All of this is done in the background, totally hidden from the user. In Windows 95 and 98, Key Serv doesn't even show up in the Windows task list. In Windows NT and Windows 2000, Key Serv cannot be hidden from the task list. The Key Serv administrator has a hot key combination that will activate the program. There are 38 hot key combinations to choose from. Also, the Key Serv interface is protected by a password that you choose. All configuration information for Key Serv is stored in an INI file that is kept in your Windows directory and is encrypted, so your configuration information cannot be read by anyone else. Key Serv can monitor what users are typing, as well as the application being used. It can also capture some passwords, such as your Dial-Up Networking password, so if you forget your password you can go through your log files and find it. Key Serv runs as a service, so users aren't aware when it starts up.
