This application quickly scans POP3 mailbox or several mailboxes and removes junk, virus unsafe, and other unwanted mail - before it is retrieved from the mail server into a regular mail client program. Mailboxes may be located anywhere on the Internet, or on the local TCP/IP network. Flexible and adjustable criteria to filter out spam and junk mail: filtering by keywords, key phrases, recipient addressing, sender addressing, attachment types, message size, domains used to relay message, mailer programs, etc. - processing rules are set separately for each listed recipient in each serviced mailbox. This application can also automatically forward messages to another email address, can generate and send notifications to the senders of the rejected mail, can operate in automated and unattended mode, allows user to read and to delete messages from the server before retrieving them, carefully keeps track of all processed messages, can generate and send automated periodic reports with the list of rejected messages to the owner of serviced mailbox, and can be used with or without regular mail client program.
