If you are using a single computer with a modem and Internet Connection Sharing (or other Proxy software) to provide access to the Internet for your network, Dialup Actions will notify all the machines on the network when the Internet connection becomes available. Each machine can then automatically perform actions such as checking email, synchronising a database, ftp'ing files etc.
