File Monitor is a tool that allows viewing text files which constantly update. A good example of this (and the one that the program was written to address) are the log files generated by web servers. I have worked with some web server applications that allow a window to constantly monitor the server log as it is being generated, thus allowing the administrator to see all the requests, acknowledgements and traffic. My current web server doesn't provide this option, so I decided to write an app that would provide this feature. Filemon can be pointed to any text file (the file can have any extension, just so long as its contents are ascii text). You can set the frequency at which you want filemon to check the specified file for updates. You can set the number of lines you want displayed from the file as well as the font size you want them displayed in. It is a simple little utility, but it's very nice to be able to see exactly what requests are being made of your server at any given moment.
