DSM utilizes Windows Services so drives and shares can be monitored while no user is logged on. When a drive or share (network version only) exceeds a configurable threshold, e-mail alerts can be sent to multiple users via MAPI or SMTP. Different e-mail address can be used for individual drive space alters. The frequency and time drives and shares are checked are totally configurable. Space thresholds can also be set as bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes or as a percentage of free space.
