Anna 5.2 is an EBNF grammar analyzer which performs an LALR(1) analysis. LALR(1) class grammars are preferred by language and compiler developers, because once your grammar is LALR(1) it is easy to generate a parser for it with an LALR parser generator. EBNF notation is useful for specifying the syntax rules of a language. Anna provides useful feedback on conflicts in your grammar. Make sure your language is not ambiguous before you write a parser for it. Knowledge of YACC is helpful, but not necessary. After your grammar is finished, get an LALR parser generator to build a parser or compiler front-end for your language. A 36- page user's manual is included. Works with Microsoft Visual C++, or runs inside of an MS-DOS box.
