"stSession is a COM DLL which provides session management and replaces Sessions in Microsoft Internet Information System (IIS). The benefit over IIS is that stSession uses MS SQL Server 7 database to store session values. This makes it possible to implement session management in a true load-balanced Web farm. Even in a single Web server environment, stSession is a useful alternative to IIS Sessions for the following reasons: IIS Session support can be switched off, improving server performance greatly. Session timeout may be set indefinitely. Transition to a Web farm later on can be effected seamlessly. The component is completely stateless and contains no internal variables, making it highly scalable."Session timeout is hardcoded to a short time. Registration is $50.
