Cadview2 is designed to be easily programmable by Visual Basic programmers with little graphic experience. Cadview2 is an ActiveX control and is supported by any ActiveX container, even Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access. Using Cadview2 you can display spatial data from a database graphically and do database updates on elements selected in the graphic view. Cadview2 supports true scale printing to any printer supported by Windows, and you can copy its image to the clipboard for sharing with other programs. Cadview2 allows display of Intergraph/Microstation Design (DGN) files, as well as hooking and saving data to these files. Cadview2 allows up to four independent tiled views of the graphic scene. Services are provided for printing to scale, copying to clipboard, drawing, and editing. The programmer is notified of all possible events, including mouse movement and clicking as well as view activation. Services are provided to hook polygons, line strings, and points. Graphics can be stored in a buffer and regenerated from the buffer as necessary. Graphics can be created in a hierarchy. Point in polygon inclusion tests are provided as well as area and length functions for polygons. Boolean operations can be performed on 3D polygons in the current view plane.
