CodeSmart is a Visual Basic add-in that includes a number of improvements to the IDE. It features an enhanced Project Explorer with expandable code, color-emphasizing items, member type, and scope distinction. It can automatically insert and remove error handlers, line numbers, and custom code at all project levels. An updatable code database accessed through the Code Database Manager allows for easy code storage and retrieval. It has a Macrodefinitions Manager that can associate shortcut keys to predefined pieces of code, and a macro substitution system. Other features include multiple copy and paste buffers, smart copy and paste (bidirectional reserved word replacement), autosave and backup file creation, control renaming, spy code editing, and viewing.
