Twang is a utility for converting an Excel spreadsheet into an SQL INSERT script. Use it to populate test databases and to load tables of standing data for which it isn't worth developing data-entry user interfaces. It is also great for data migration projects and is database independent. Twang works with any standard SQL database and requires at least Excel 97. Version 2.2 distinguishes between string and numeric values and only quotes strings. Note: Registration costs $20. In the unregistered version, some cosmetic options cannot be changed, and there is a limit to the number of rows that can be inserted.
