"Virtually any type of application which needs to communicate with another, either on a local network or over the Internet, can be written using SocketWrench Secure. It provides both client and server capability, and includes support for standard and secure (SSL) connections. SWS has the ability to establish secure connections with remote servers, as well as function as a secure server itself. Unlike other packages that provide client-only services, or require the mastering of two (or more) controls, you can build virtually any type of application with SocketWrench Secure using either the TCP or UDP protocols. The software is optimized for 32-bit platforms and implements secure protocols with support for up to 128-bit encryption. The package includes both ActiveX controls, standard dynamic link libraries (DLLs) and C++ class wrappers plus samples and documentation. Also included is a Remote Access Services (RAS) dialer control. This component allows you to create, modify and establish dial-up networking connections to Internet service providers and corporate WANs using the SLIP and PPP protocols."
