"SocksvrQ is a high performance ActiveX/COM DLL designed exclusively for the purpose of creating high performance network server and client applications on Windows NT and 2000. As part of this design goal, SocksvrQ was built to scale multiple processors, and take advantage of Windows NT specific performance features (such as I/O Completion Ports). Features include sync/asyn connects with timeouts, multi-threaded sending/receiving, the ability to configure the number of threads in the I/O thread pool, support for multi-homed machines, access to socket options to change Winsock headers for connection customization, and more, all while still providing a simple interface to interact with."
