Optionally, a customizable message will be sent to the original sender of the virus. Another new feature in MailMax 5.1 is 'Tarpitting'. This allows administrators to scan for unsuccessful attempts by outside users to send to non-existing users on the server. You can configure MailMax to specify the number of failed attempts, before the offending IP address is disconnected during that session. Administrators have the power to check connecting IP addresses against open relay/spam databases on the internet. Our open architecture allows you to define open relay databases of your choice.
